Council Highlights
At the July Council meeting Don Sachs reported by phone on
Director of Music position. An interview was held with
Mark
Jonkman. Don Sachs, Pastor Laura, Donna George, Vanessa
Ferrizzi and Jerry Heebner were present from the search committee.
Upon
the Search Committee’s recommendation, the Council
approved hiring Mark Jonkman at a starting annual salary of $19,000 for
the Director
of Music position at St. Andrew’s. Start date was scheduled
for the middle of August (Please see page 5 for Mark’s introductory
article).
The Council will be organize the
church picnic on August 8. The Treasurer’s Report was
reviewed. St. Andrew’s needs $22,500 a month
to maintain the
budget. Offerings for the month of June were short about $3,500.
Financial information will continue to be provided
to the congregation
twice a month in the bulletin. The 50th Anniversary of Pastor
Krapf’s ordination was June 17. St. Andrew’s will
host a celebration on
October 24. Monsignor Sacks of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help will be the guest preacher for Reformation Sunday,
October
31. The Youth and Family Ministry
Committee reported that Cindy Frantz will co-coordinate the coming
Sunday School year. Sunday School
teachers are still needed (If you are
interested in teaching, co-teaching or assisting in the Sunday School
classroom, please contact
Cindy at 610-861-7694).
The Property Committee reported that the Stained Glass Window
Committee has requested to replace the stained
glass windows in the
Sanctuary. The existing windows would be replaced with double paned
windows with the expense covered by SAW. The
new stained glass
would be an insert and the expense would be covered by special
donations and memorials. Council asked the Committe
develop a
design concept for the windows and then present it to council.
Resource Management reported that we are still in need of a
Stewardship
Chair.
